The other week I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Lingenfelter collection. It consisted of dozens of cool cars all the way from a Bugatti Veyron to a 32 ford hot rod, it is located in Brighton Michigan. Aside from the amazing cars in the collection I noticed the building in which they were stored. There were 3 separate room, each with anywhere from 20 to 30 cars in them. They were organized by supercars, corvettes and muscle cars, and muscle cars and hot rods. It was easily one of the most impressive garages due to the content of it, but the building itself didn’t do much for me.

This week I want to share some cool garages. I’ll start off with one I visited last year. Dave Crane’s museum in Battle Creek MI. Dave is a pioneer of drag racing. His collection consist of vintage drag racing memorabilia and cars of all types. It is located in a small garage behind his house. The best part about visiting Dave’s is not seeing all the rare vintage speed parts, or sitting in cool old drag cars. It is simply hanging out with Dave. Dave is one of the all-time greatest people I have ever met. Between his awesome stories, cool cars, and endless amounts of hospitality Dave Carne certainly has one of the coolest garages I’ve ever seen.  

Here are a few shots of my garage. It may not be as full of historic value as Dave’s garage or have as many cool cars as the lingenfelter collection, but it is my functioning place of business. My garage includes 2 bays for cars, 1 spray booth, and 1 work bench room that houses all of our fabrication equipment. My spray booth is not a prefabbed unit that we bought and put in. My dad built it when we put up the building in 1993. It works extremely well, sprays clean and is big enough to accommodate any vehicle.
